A Lisa Frank-inspired brunch picnic dream

When my friend Jen Luce—an insanely talented wedding photographer and all-around creative soul—told me she had a vision for a Lisa Frank-inspired 90’s brunch picnic, I was immediately in. Think pastel magic, DIY whimsy, and enough nostalgic touches to make any millennial’s heart skip a beat.
The afternoon was straight out of a rainbow-colored dream. Our vision came to life with hand-painted flowers, butterfly motifs, and color everywhere you turned. From floppy disk-tagged goodie bags packed with 90’s treasures (yes, there were slap bracelets involved) to faux-CD “place cards” , every detail made us feel like we were reliving our childhood—but with champagne.
The food? Iconic. Jen whipped up the most delicious quiche, we sipped champagne under the sun, and snacked on Hook & Press donuts (a Santa Barbara fave) and the cutest individual charcuterie boxes from The Social Grazing Company.
We spent the afternoon reminiscing, laughing, posing for butterfly-themed photo shoots, and just soaking up the joy of being together. It was playful, heartfelt, and a reminder that a little sparkle and creativity go a long way when it comes to making memories.
Huge shoutout to Jen for dreaming it up with me—and for bringing her signature magic to every part of the day.
Let’s do it again soon? ✨🦄
